CM Ibobi bats for accuracy, details

Imphal, February 28 2016: Chief Minister O Ibobi has appealed to the media fraternity of the State to give detail and accurate information while reporting any event or incident.

A golden jubilee souvenir of AIR Imphal and 'Rare music collection of the ritual songs of the Chakpas' were released at Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal Classic here today and Chief Minister O Ibobi graced the function as chief guest.

Speaking at the gathering, Ibobi called upon the media fraternity to disseminate detail and accurate information about different activities undertaken by the State Government.

Any suggestion on the grievances and aspirations of the public for necessary rectification is always welcomed, Ibobi stated.

Since August 15, 1953, AIR Imphal has been broadcasting news and enter- tainment programmes apart from preserving and promoting cultures, traditions and rituals of different communities of the State.

By promoting cultures, traditions, languages and religious faiths of different communities, AIR Imphal has been taking pro-active roles towards building a united Manipur.

The Chief Minister also appreciated AIR Imphal for digitization of folk songs and folk music of different communities which he said would be a cultural heritage for the whole State.

Renowned filmmaker Aribam Syam, Prof IS Kangjam and AIR Imphal Station Director M Kanan-kumar were also seated on the dais as presidium members.
