Kangpokpi, September 26 2020:
Expressing deep disappointment over the dropping of Nemcha Kipgen from the Council of Ministers in the reshuffle on September 24, the Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi has urged the Chief Minister to immediately reinstate her in the Ministry to avoid 'trust deficit'.
The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi wondered as to how the Chief Minister dropped the only woman Minister from the Council of Ministers when the BJP has strongly emphasized on women empowerment and its commitment to pass the 33% Women Reservation Bill.
It also stated that Kangpokpi gave the ruling BJP Government the only woman MLA with a vision to empower women in society and added that removing Nemcha Kipgen has deeply disappointed not only the women community but the entire population of the district.
Condemning the removal of the lone woman Minister, the Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi said that it [dropping Nemcha Kipgen] is against the BJP's commitment towards empowering women.
It also stated that Nemcha not only represented the women community of the State but is also the Minister in charge of the district and removing her could lead to 'trust deficit' on the BJP Government.
Therefore, the civil bodies of Kangpokpi under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district urge Chief Minister N Biren Singh to re-instate Nemcha Kipgen in the Council of Ministers to avoid misunderstanding and trust deficit, it added.
It also cautioned that if N Biren Singh fails to listen the polite appeal of the civil bodies and the Kuki Inpi, the people of Kangpokpi may rise in uproar in such a way that their voice is heard by the Central leaders and it can be detrimental for the BJP Government in the State.
It also reminded Chief Minister N Biren Singh that in a democracy, the elected representatives forming the Government must understand the sentiments of the people.
