New Delhi, September 26 2019: Additional SP, NAB Manipur, Thounaojam Brinda was awarded for the best performing officer against smuggled & counterfeit trade, by FICCI Cascade (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) at Hyat Regency, New Delhi in its 6th Edition, said a statement.

FICCI was established in 1927 on the advice of Mahatma Gandhi, by GD Birla and Purusutom Das.

It is the largest, oldest and apex business organisation in India.

FICCI Cascade 2019 is the apex industrial committee against smuggling and counterfeiting activities.

In the last one and half year, Th Brinda has busted several big drug cartels in the State and she has arrested several powerful drug lords, including high ranking police officers and politicians, among others.

Expressing her gratitude for the award, Th Brinda credited the same to the State Government, especially the Chief Minister, the Home Department and civil societies for the tremendous support in the struggle against drug menace in the State.

She stated that the war on drug was launched by the present Government and this is just the beginning of a long struggle against the menace that has the potential to wipe out the young generations in one go.

The officer was conferred the Chief Minister's Gallantry Medal last year and the Chief Minister's Commendation Certificate this year in recognition for her contribution on the war against drugs.
