CICSU condemns transfer of teacher

Bishnupur, August 26 2021: The CI College Students' Union has condemned the transfer of a History Department teacher, Dr Bhabananda Singh from CI College in Bishnupur District.

Dr Bhabananda Singh was transferred from CI College as per an order issued on August 7 by the Directorate of University & Higher Education, Government of Manipur, said a release from the CI College Students' Union (CICSU).

The student body also stated that earlier two teachers from Botany Department and Geography Department have also been transferred when the number of teachers in the college is already insufficient.

The students body urged the authority concerned to intervene in the matter and take actions against the teachers who were sent as replacements to the college- one from Thambal Marik College & another from Biramangol College, and have not joined the College till date.

It also cautioned the School Principals to not issue the release order for Dr Bhabananda Singh before a suitable replacement has been sent to the college.

The CI College Students' Union further stated that CICSU in association with other student bodies of the district is prepared to intensify their agitation if the concerned authority fails to fulfil their demands at the earliest.
