Imphal, February 26 2019:
Taking strong exception with the failure of the Government of India to ink the final agreement with the NSCN (IM) and the NNPGs, even after more than 20 years of the guns going silent and negotiations, the Naga Hoho has decided to boycott the meeting scheduled with Interlocutor to the peace talk, RN Ravi on February 26 .
In a statement, Naga Hoho said that in the course of a series of meeting with RN Ravi in the last five years, he had stated time and again that there is "one Naga problem and so also one comprehensive political solution; the talk was in advance stage; all the points have been covered and agreed in principle" .
The Naga Students' Federation also decided to boycott the scheduled meeting with RN Ravi on February 26 and 27 over the failure to ink a final deal.
Lip service of the Gol has intentionally prolonged the peace process, NSF said.
The recent statement of the BJP that the Naga solution will be finalised only after the Lok Sabha election is in absolute contradiction to the Prime Minister's commitment, said Naga Hoho and added that Governor PB Acharya, a known BJP man, has been claiming now and then that the political dialogue was in an advanced stage and recalled that in March 2018 the Governor had stated that the Naga political settlement will be brought within six months.
All these assurances have turned out to be a complete farce, said Naga Hoho and questioned "why India is still unable to sign the Agreement" .
Taking serious note of the failure to ink the final agreement, the Naga Hoho said that it has decided to boycott the scheduled meeting with RN Ravi on February 26, arranged by the State Government, at Kohima and urged all Naga frontal organisations under it to stay away from the meeting.
The Naga Mothers' Association (NMA) and the United Naga Council (UNC) have also decided to stay away from the meeting with RN Ravi who arrived at Nagaland today.
