Four National Highway projects cleared for North Eastern region

Imphal, November 25 2016:
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has cleared four projects for the North Eastern region of the country (112.88 km, at a total cost of Rs 1173.98 crore).
While two of these projects are in Manipur, one each is in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
The first project is for strengthening of the existing two lane pavement and providing paved shoulder on a 47.67 km stretch of NH 39 (Mao�Imphal section) in Manipur at a cost of Rs 230.46 crore.
Land is already available for the project.
The second project is also for strengthening of the existing two lane pavement and providing paved shoulder on another 27 km stretch of NH 39 (Mao-Imphal section) in Manipur at a cost of Rs 139.87 crore.
Land is available for this project too.
The project in Arunachal Pradesh is for 4-laning of 10.9 km of Itanagar to Banderdewa section of NH-415 at a cost of Rs 341.83 crore.
The State Government is providing 30 to 40 m Right-Of-Way (ROW) free from encumbrances for the project.
The project in Nagaland is for improvement 27.3 km of city portion of NH-39 through Dimapur and Kohima at a cost of Rs 461.82 crore.
Land is already available for this project also.
