AIYC slams Central Govt

Imphal, March 25 2015: All India Youth Congress (AIYC) has slammed the BJP Government at the Centre for passing the Land Acquisition Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha on March 10, this year while terming it as the reincarnation of "British rule in India" .

Secretary of All India Youth Congress, NE in-charge, Dayan Hussain in a press meet held at Congress Bhavan today said that the Bill must be withdrawn as it is against the interest of farmers.

He said that the BJP Government has failed to fulfill the poll promises to the people of India and Manipur.

Hussain also strongly criticised the Central Govt for its 'anti-poor' Budget.

Taking a dig at the BJP Government for its alleged anti-minority stand, Dayan pointed out that many Churches and Mosques have been vandalized after the BJP came to power at the Centre.

RSS activists have caused serious threat to the lives of many people but till today the Prime Minister is maintaining a stoic silence, which is a sign of his incompetency, he added.

To show that the people of Manipur are against the Land Acquisition Bill, AIYC will launch a series of agitation from March 31, added Amir Hussain, president of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee.

He also appealed to the State Government to take up necessary steps to face water scarcity in the State.
