Works Minister seeks people's cooperation to stop miscreants from destroying newly constructed roads

Referring to the growing incidence of destruction of newly constructed roads by miscreants at night, Works and YAS Minister Govindas Konthoujam has sought people's cooperation in putting an end to such acts.
He was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Takyel Khongbal Moirangthong Bridge organised by the Public Works Department today.
Addressing the gathering, the YAS Minister stated that an important aspect of development means better roadways and thus emphasized on the need to stop this digging up of roads by unknown perpetrators.
He also shared that the bridge which is set to be constructed across Nambul River at Takyel Khongbal was taken up under Chief Minister N Biren Singh's 'Transforming Manipur' initiative.

The Minister stated that a total of Rs 1,80,00,000 (one-crore and eighty lakh) will be used to construct the double-lane 28 metre long bridge.
Maintaining that the area will achieve more development with the construction of this bridge, Govindas Konthoujam also asserted that property prices will soar from Rs 2,000 per sq ft to Rs 4,000 per sq ft.
Speaking on the occasion, Sapam Kunjakeshwor (Keba), MLA, Patsoi Constituency said that the goal is to complete construction of the foundation before the beginning of the rainy season at a speedy pace and with strict quality maintenance.
He expressed hope of completing the bridge within two years and inaugurating it on January 25, 2024 .
The Patsoi MLA then made a call to plant more trees along Takyel Khongbal, make the region drug-free and to maintain cleanliness in the area.
Lastly, he sought the people's support in transforming Patsoi into a smart constituency.
