Imphal, December 23 2012:
Joining a horde of civil society organisations and political parties, CPI Manipur State Council has urged the authorities concerned to book NSCN-IM's Lt Col Livingstone within 24 hours.
Speaking to media persons at their office here today, CPI Manipur State Council secretary Dr M Nara asserted that Livingstone is an established criminal.
Whether he is a cadre of NSCN-IM or not, security forces/police should pull him up for his criminal act.
The ongoing mass movement was invited by the Government's failure to book the criminal in time, Dr Nara said.
Reminding that NSCN-IM has been committing all kinds of criminal activities in Manipur, the most notorious being the triple murder of SDO Thingnam Kishan, Token and Rajen and their role in the forced disappearance of Irabanta, Dr Nara alleged that despite all these anti-social and subversive activities, both the State Government and the Government of India have not shown any serious concern.
Singer Naba who was also present at the press meet appealed to call off the ongoing general strike in view of Christmas festival.
