State level workshop on capacity building for pottery & clay modelling concludes

The 4-day State level workshop on skill upgradation/ capacity building on Pottery & Clay Modelling organized as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations under the support of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India concluded today at Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong.
Speaking as the chief guest of the valedictory function, Vungzagin Valte, Minister of Tribal Affairs and Hills appreciated the initiatives of Tribal Research Institute in providing various skill training to the tribal people which will go a long way in improving the living conditions of the people.
The press release further informed that Kengoo Zuring who graced the occasion as the president congratulated the participants and stated that the department made good investment in upgrading their skills.
She further said, 'While retaining the uniqueness of our traditional art and skill, the younger generation can upscale their skills through innovative ideas'.
She urged the participants to look forward to future job opportunities, enhancement to economic growth and sustenance through quality and innovative products and improve and increase wage earnings for artisans.
The workshop was attended by 46 tribal artisans, unemployed tribal youths and potters.
The valedictory function was also graced by Letkhogin Haokip, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Tribal Affairs and Hills Department and Dr Tara Manchin, Member, Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribe as Guests of Honour, added the press release.
