Swarnim Vijay Mashaal reaches Nambol

Keithelmanbi Battalion of HQ 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) continued with the celebrations of Swarnim Vijay Varsh with befitting enthusiasm and great fanfare at Keithelmanbi and Nambol on October 22.The Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebration was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the National War Memorial in New Delhi on December 16, 2020, said a statement of IGAR(S).
Four Victory Flames (Swarnim Vijay Mashaal) lit from the eternal flame at National War Memorial have been travelling across the length and width of the country, of which, one has reached Nambol on Friday.
The 'Victory' celebrations at Nambol commenced with the arrival of the Victory Flame, followed by paying homage to the fallen soldiers who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty with wreath laying.
The Mashaal was presented a Guard of honour by the Assam Rifles and NCC students.
Meira Paibis of the area also paid floral tributes to the valiant soldiers who attained Veergati on the path of duty.
MPCC president and MLA, N Loken Singh graced the occasion as chief guest, which was attended by ex-servicemen of Assam Rifles, CSOs, locals, dignitaries from CAPF and State Administration including District Collector, Bishnupur along with Police officials.
The event witnessed holistic participation of people from all walks of life.
The celebrations concluded with the Mashaal reaching Keithalmanbi Garrison escorted by local bike riders, where it will be staying for the night.
Meanwhile, Swarnim Vijay Varsh was also celebrated on October 21 at Peace Ground Churachandpur.
The victory flame accompanied by Commandant 46 AR and biker club was taken from Khuga to HQ 27 Sector AR at CCpur.
It was then displayed for paying homage by the local populace/troops and families of 27 Sector AR.
The victory flame was then brought from 27 Sector AR to CCpur Peace Ground wherein chief guest of the event, Raja Babu Singh, LPS, IG BSF received the flame from Commandant 46 AR accompanied by Brigadier Ashish Ranjan, VSM, Cdr 27 Sector AR and was placed at the podium.
The celebration concluded after the victory flame was finally moved to HQ 27 Sector AR .
