Lifting and distribution of PDS items continue unabated

Imphal, August 22 2020: Despite the COVID 19 lockdown, the State Government continues lifting and distribution of PDS rice in its effort to ensure that the people of the State are provided adequate PDS items.

In Imphal West district, a total of 4903.65 quintal of rice under PMGKAY for the month of August have been lifted for three assembly constituencies on August 21, 2020.The lifted rice consists 1431.3 quintal for Sagolband AC, 1804.25 quintal for Konthoujam AC and 1668.1 quintal for Wangoi AC.

In the district, 41 quintal of rice meant for migrant workers was also distributed to 815 persons on the same day.

In respect of Tamenglong district, 864.2 quintal of NFSA rice for the month of July for Tamenglong AC have been lifted on 21 August, 2020 from FCI godown, Sangaiprou.

In Churachandpur District, Churachandpur AC lifted 1381 quintal of PMGKAY rice for August and Thanlon AC (Mualnuam) lifted 16.49 quintal of Chana Whole for July on August 20, 2020 .

In Kakching district, PMGKAY Whole Chana for the month of July & August for three ACs were lifted on August 20, 2020 which consists 87.95 quintal each for Hiyanglam AC, 92.52 quintal each for Kakching AC and 102.50 quintal each for Wabagai AC .

In Thoubal District, 2051.30 quintal and 1830.60 quintal of PMGKAY rice for the month of September were lifted for Wangjing Tentha AC and Wangkhem AC on 19 and 20, August respectively.

In the District, 3881.9 quintal of PMGKAY rice were also distributed to the beneficiaries of Wangjing Tentha AC and Wangkhem AC .

It is worth mentioning that the State Government has been taking up concerted efforts by providing foodgrains under various schemes to all the district in the State.
