MNPF accuses IM of creating division, hatred
Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, March 22 2018: The militant outfit Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) has accused NSCN-IM of creating and propagating division and hatred among different communities of Manipur.

A statement issued by MNPF assistant publicity secretary L Zimik asserted that the NSCN-IM has been propagating a rumour about armed Meitei UGs roaming around to attack Tangkhul foothill villages but this is a baseless propaganda which is only aimed at creating fear psychosis and hatred among the people.

There had been no such instances where the Meitei UGs ordered its cadres to attack the Tangkhuls and create communal conflict at any point of time rather it was the NSCN-IM which had been trying to create such unwanted situation by confusing the innocent people living in the foothills specially the Kamo Tangkhuls, it alleged.

The Kamo Tangkhuls, the Meiteis and the Kukis must take every possible precaution to prevent unnecessary division and tension against such conspiracy of NSCN-IM, it said.

The NSCN-IM became a Somdal based underground group treating the Naga public with biased motives by segregating the people as more valuable and less valuable groups after its split from NSCN leader SS Khaplang in 1988.Even the cause of the split of NSCN in 1988 was due to the vested dictatorship of Th Muivah from Somdal village, who, out of his sheer greed for power tried to dictate the people of eastern Nagaland under his biased will and rules.

Instead of realizing the irrelevancy of his ruthless doctrine borrowed from Chinese ruler General Mao Tse Dong, and changing it with relevant approaches, he out of sheer shame and disgrace for his failure and unacceptance by the people, began to torture, kill, threaten and intimidate the innocent Naga civilians who were supposed to be his protection, strength, shelter and power for achieving the aspired goal, alleged the outfit.

And after such shameful failure in eastern Nagaland, he turned his attention towards the Tangkhul community hoping to fool the Tangkhul public and used them as an instrument for gaining his vested popularity in the name of Naga Nationalism.

Th Muivah and his gangsters had been suppressing the innocent smaller Nagas tribes of Manipur specially the Kamo Tangkhuls for the past 3-4 decades, it alleged.

All the Kamo Tangkhuls (East and South Tangkhul) who were part of the infamous accord known as 'Shillong Accord' had been put to death without any hesitations whereas there are still people alive who are part of the same accord from the Kharao (West Tangkhul) jurisdiction.

The Kamo Tangkhul intellectuals were banned from participating in the apex Tangkhul Social and civil organizational leaderships.

An order to shoot Stephen Angkang of Lungphu village was issued for no reason but just for having the desire to sacrifice and work for the Tangkhul community and the Nagas in general by fairly contesting the presidential seat of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) Jonathan Kashung of Shingkap village was murdered for no reason but for merely having the guts to contest the Tangkhul Naga Long presidential election.

Ngalangzar of Nongman village, former Vice-Chairman of ADC Ukhrul was shot dead in Ukhrul district for having the utmost desire to serve the Tangkhul community by filling one of the posts in the Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (ADC) whereas, many of the ADC Members of his own status from the rest of the Tangkhul jurisdictions were set free without taking any action.

Wungnaoshang Keishing, former MLA of Phungyar AC was ambushed by the NSCN-IM at Riha village by making wrong allegations whereas Dr Khashim Ruivah, MLA of Chingai AC from Somdal village, the birth place of Thuingaleng Muivah who attended the Manipur Assembly session with Wungnaoshang on the same day for the same reason which was supposed to have been banned by the NSCN-IM was set free without taking any action, listed the MNPF.

Even though Rishang Keishing from Bungpa Khunou, Kamjong district, was the longest serving politician in India, NSCN-IM did not allow his family to bury his dead body at his birth place because he was born within the jurisdiction of the Kamo Tangkhul land.

The NSCN-IM had been preventing formation of Tangkhul Kamo civil and social organizations with threats and intimidations, whereas the rest of the Tangkhul jurisdictions have their own civil and social organizations to safeguard their culture, unity and identity, further alleged MNPF.

All the Kamo Tangkhul intellectuals were being either murdered literally or had their potentials forcefully paralysed due to threats from the leaders of 'Somdal NSCN-IM', the MNPF alleged.

Most of the Kamo NSCN-IM intellectuals who had the potential to lead Nagas were also murdered with wrong allegations, the outfit alleged citing the cases of Ngathingkhui Angkang of Lungphu village, Ks Alungmi of Riha village, Middleson alias Thotmungchan Konghay of Leikoiching village and William of Kampat Khullen village.

Even though Hopeson Ningshen of Nambashi has not been murdered, he is being used as a scapegoat for the sins of 'Somdal NSCN-IM' leaders, it alleged.

NSCN-IM has been instrumental in crippling development works at Kamo areas by snatching all the work programmes and collecting the highest percentage from contractors.

With the Kamos and the Tangkhul public in common now aware of the NSCN-IM's tactics of suppressing them, the NSCN-IM has adopted a new tactics of creating division among the Kamo Tangkhuls and the Meiteis by floating a propaganda of fear psychosis and hatred.

They (NSCN-IM) had been trying to sow seeds of hatred and chaos among the Tangkhuls and Meiteis just to gain favor and dependency of the Kamo Tangkhul people on NSCN (IM) for defence against the Meiteis, which in reality is needless.

The NSCN-IM could not tolerate to watch peaceful coexistence of the Tangkhul foothills villages with Meiteis and Kukis.

Kuki-Naga crisis of early 1990s which led to the loss of hundreds of innocent lives turned out to be a game of Th Muivah and his gangsters in order to promote recruitment of their biased UG cadres, the MNPF alleged.
