The three days Chavang Kut carnival planned in Churachandpur is scheduled to be attended by the Chief Minister of Mizoram Lalthanhawla and Lok Sabha MP Conrad K Sangma, a statement issued by the celebration committee said.
The 2016 edition of Chavang Kut, with the theme Bigger, Better, Stronger will be celebrated at Peace Ground, Tuibong, Chura-chandpur from October 30 to November 1 .
The event will be graced by Conrad K Sangma and Lal Thanhawla, Chief Minister, Mizoram as chief guest on October 30 & November 1 respectively announced the committee.
At the said three-day event, delegates and cultural troupes from more than seventy-one (71) tribes hailing from the North Eastern States of India, Myanmar, Bangladesh and other Asian countries will witness the historic occasion by showcasing their rich cultural heritage, it added.
The committee, as such, has appealed to all organisations, associations and other civil society groups in Manipur to refrain from calling bandh or strike that may affect the mega event.
