Two more test Dengue positive in Moreh town

Amidst intensive fogging and surveillance being carried out to prevent further spread of the disease by district malaria department, two more children tested positive for Dengue in the border town of
Moreh, thus, increasing the total number of positive cases to 39 on Wednesday.
One eight years old child from Phaicham village under Moreh town and a six years old child from Lhangnom village tested positive for Dengue on Wednesday even as district malaria department has been conducting fogging day and night in every locality of the town.
From mid-June till July 16, a total of 37 Dengue positive cases have been detected in the border town while one child succumbed to the vector-borne disease at RIMS in June.
Meanwhile, Meetei Council Moreh president M Thoiba Singh, on behalf of different communities settling in the border town, has thanked district malaria department for taking up measures to prevent further spread of the disease in the border town.
He said that district malaria officer Dr Manibhushan has been personally supervising fogging and surveillance day and night.
