Hep-B outbreak claims one girl in Tamenglong

Imphal, March 20 2012: An 18 years old girl reportedly died after an outbreak of Hep-B in Tamenglong district even as 17 others have been confirmed positive of the infection.

According to sources, at least 10 villagers of Marangching village have been confirmed Hep B positive.

Among them, Abisha Kangmei (18) d/o Kanamjon Gangmei succumbed to the disease on March 18 .

On the other hand, at least another seven persons have been tested positive of Hep-B 150 persons on whom medical test have conducted to confirm outbreak of Hep-B at Noney.

Villagers have drawn the immediate attention of state Health Department in this regard.
