Neikanlong celebrates 50 years of settlement

Imphal, November 19 2021: MLA of Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency, Khumukcham Joykishan appealed for unity and to support one another and strive for a developed Manipur.

He made the above statement while speaking as the chief guest on the occasion of Neikanlong Golden Jubilee (50 years of settlement) celebrations held at 2nd Avenue Neikanlong Thangmeiband today.

Kh Joykishan further stated that he had donated the land were the function has been held as per the desire of the local elders and women folk of the area for construction of a community hall.

If he is elected again in the upcoming election he assured to build a community hall in the said area.

The MLA also assured that the construction of drain and black topping of roads in Thangmeiband AC will be resumed shortly which have been halted due to COVID-19 pandemic and expressed belief that the construction works will be completed before Christmas.

Expressing concern over the reckless attitude of public in view of the improving Covid situation, he appealed to all to adhere to Covid SOPs strictly to check the further spread of Coronavirus.

The MLA also unveiled a Jubilee monolith and a souvenir was released by Th Kirankumar, DC Imphal West during the celebration and homage were paid to departed leaders of the Neikanlong village.

The Golden Jubilee celebration was also attended by Ajon Gonmei, Chairman of Neikanlong, retired IAS LP Gonmei, former chairman of Neikanlong, PG Dimthaurei, retired IAS Norbert Disinang, retired MCS Thaikhul Rongmei and DIG Range IV Manipur Police IPS Kamei Angam Romanus as presidium members.
