Imphal, September 19 2024: The Imphal East District VDF Welfare Association has urged SP K Meghachandra to revoke the transfer order of 25 VDF personnel from Imphal East to Jiribam.

Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club today, president of the VDF association Sagolsem Sanjit said that the order was issued on September 17 as per the direction of the DGP.

Transferring VDF personnel to a distant place is not appropriate as their salary is only Rs 10,000, he said and added that looking after their families with the meagre income is already hard for them.

He further said that the State Government and the senior police officers need to understand all the problems being faced by VDF personnel.

Saying that many VDF personnel are currently posted at sensitive areas but they are ill-equipped, he urged all concerned to provide necessary equipment to them (the VDF personnel at sensitive places) .
