DLOs discuss Vision Tamenglong 2020

Tamenglong, January 19 2020:
Vision 2020 for Tamenglong district was discussed during a District level officers (DLOs) meeting held at Deputy Commissioner's conference hall, Tamenglong district headquarters on Thursday.
During the meeting, departments concerned shared their vision for Tamenglong district.
According to the 2020 Vision, roads in Tamenglong district will be monitored every week so that they are motorable throughout the year and district hospital will get new equipment through HADP to perform some major vital operations.
Under the 'School Fagathansi' mission, two government schools having a maximum of 700 students would be selected.
Since no kids are to be left out from schools, the district administration will also select 10 government schools for development as model schools so that at least 2500 students get the benefits out of it.
The vision also highlighted that to bring more forest areas under the community forest reserve project, the forest department will target 100 square km forest areas in Tamenglong town so that the people make a viable income from this project.
To prevent illegal timber business, the forest department will also check the limit of cutting of trees in the district.
During the meeting, DC Tamenglong Armstrong Pame stated that the district administration will also make an effort to declare the district free from single-use plastic very soon.
During the meeting, it was also noted that by May 2020 the ongoing water supply project will be completed to ensure that the residents of Tamenglong have sufficient drinking water.
DC Tamenglong also shared that MNREDA will be providing 100 lamps free of cost to Tamenglong sub division for lighting up especially the old age, orphanages, residential schools and hospitals.
Since sports play an important role in the state, TATA Grassroots Football School's project will continue to train boys and girls in Tamenglong district.
He also informed that ONGC will be providing funding of about Rs 2.5 crore for building up the Tamenglong ground and PWD will be taking up this project with the target of completing before August 15, 2020, if there is no problem in implementing this project.
Altogether 31 departments took part in the meeting.
