Training programme kicks off

A 3 Day Practical Training on locally available cereal processing with special emphasis on Chakhao for income generation of rural women began today at Kangmong Langonjam Leikai today.
The training programme is jointly organised by BIRAC Regional Techno-Entrepreneurship Promotion Centre (BRTC) and the Green Foundation Imphal.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dr Rajiv Kangabam, Manager of Technology Business Incubator, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Khaidem Rajen, chairman of The Green Foundation, Samom Malemnganbi, member of Yarou Bamdiar Zilla Parishad, Thangjam Thoiba, pradhan of Kangmong Gram Panchayat and Sinam Yairentomba Meetei of MSME Technology Centre as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, U Himmat, CEO of The Green Foundation said that the training is organised after signing an MoU with BRTC with an aim to impart training to make edible items from locally available agricultural produce with special emphasis on Chakhao.
They will also help in installing processing units and in selling the products, he added.
He continued that an advanced training will be conducted for the selected hard working trainees from the ongoing training programme inorder to promote agri entrepreneurs.
Dr Rajiv Kangabam said that during the training, special emphasis will be given on entrepreneurship development and to find out funding sources.
A cluster will be formed after the training to help in increasing the produce, he added.
