Health camp held, humanitarian aid extended

Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to the internally displaced people (IDP) who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
Today, BJP Heingang Mandal distributed 100 beds at the relief camp opened in Heingang Kangjeibung Multipurpose Rural Development Centre Hall.
Nongthombam Dilip, treasurer BJP Heingang Mandal and brother of Chief Minister N Biren Singh took a major role in the distribution of beds to the IDP staying in the relief camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Nongthombam Dilip said that with the advent of winter, the beds were provided to help the IDP who are currently sleeping on the floor.

He also shared that preparations have been made to provide similar assistance in other relief camps opened in the State and soon about 300 beds will be provided to the IDPs staying in Pre-fabricated Shelter House set up at Sajiwa Jail.
BJP Heingang Mandal president Ksh Jila also took part in the event.
Meanwhile, Lions Club of Imphal Chanura in collaboration with DentaMore Dental Clinic and Padma Medicare today organised a Free Dental Check-up cum Free Diabetes Detection and Health Awareness Camp at Ghari Awang Leikai under the theme, "Health for Her" .
During the camp, a medical team led by Dr Laishram Sanathoi Chanu provided various services including dental check-up and Diabetes detection test to the public.
Dr M Annie Bichal and Khsetrimayum Padma, treasurer of Lions Club of Imphal Chanura gave awareness on different health issues and ways to stay fit & healthy.
Lions Club of Imphal Chanura president Amita Laishram also took part in the camp.
Moreover, Alumni DM College of Science XII 1996-TDC 1999 Batch also conducted a free health camp at Kumbi Awang High School.
During the health camp, various services including eye check-up, blood group test, blood sugar test, etc were provided to the people.
Free spectacles were also distributed to students.
Relief materials such as clothes, books, pens, food items, medicines, etc were also distributed to the conflict survivors taking shelter there.
A Health Mela in connection with Ayushman Bhava Campaign of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India was also held at Community Health Centre, Awang Sekmai, Imphal West on Saturday.
A team of specialist doctors and support staff from Shija Academy of Health Sciences screened a total of 67 patients during the camp, said a release issued by Shija Hospitals & Research Institute.
The health mela was conducted in collaboration with CHC Sekmai.
Free OPD consultation with specialists in Community Medicine, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, and Ophthalmology along with free distribution of medicines were the main features of the camp.
Registration of ABHA ID, AB-PMJAY and CMHT was also done during the health mela.
