For the first time, police personnel and Home Guards would be sent to polling stations by employing a randomisation method.
Just like polling officials and observers, police personnel and Home Guards would be selected randomly by using a specific software, informed a source.
The ECI asked the CEO to randomise police personnel and Home Guards for election duty on the day the election schedule was announced.
In addition to the 100 companies of Central paramilitary forces demanded by the CEO from the State, a large number of State forces would be used in the Lok Sabha election which would be held two phases in the State.
All police personnel and Home Guards who would be assigned election duty on the day of polling would be randomised using the specific computer software, said the source.
This time, EVMs as well as postal ballots would have photographs of candidates against their names.
Vehicles which would be used for movement of sector officers would be fitted with GPS devices.
Braille photo voter slips would be provided to visually impaired voters and there would be a separate queue for third gender.
Special arrangement would also be made at all polling stations for transportation of persons with disabilities, added the source.
