Imphal, January 17 2017:
The NSCN (IM) has taken serious note of the alleged abduction of its Steering Executive member ZD Bon by 14 Sikh Regiment under Tamei Battalion Headquarters at Bhalok/Phalong junction yesterday morning while he was returning home along with his family members after attending a function.
In a statement, the outfit said at a time when Nagas are expecting a final and peaceful solution to the prolonged peace negotiation between India and NSCN (IM) representing Nagas, frequent raids, arrest and and targetting of National workers by Indian armed forces/agencies is undermining its ceasefire ground rules and the peace talk itself.
Should Government of India say it is lack of coordination to control their armed forces and condone it, the outfit asked, adding that long awaited peaceful solution should not be relegated to the backburner due to such unmindful action of Indian armed forces.
Equally it is viewed as a potential threat to the peaceful environment between India and Nagas, it said and added that in any eventuality, GoI should be held responsible.
NSCN (IM) in the statement demanded GoI to immediately control its armed forces to behave and adhere to the agreed ceasefire ground rules and release its abducted senior leader unconditionally.
