ZYF reiterates stand on Noney village

Imphal, January 17 2014 : The Zeliangrong Youth Front reiterated its earlier stand to boycott Longmai (Noney) village for failing to give justification and clarification regarding the physical assaults on ZYF leaders.

The mental tortured, harassment, illegal confinement, illegal detention, subjection to intense interrogation for hours on the midnight of Dec 12, 2013 at the village community hall.

The ZYF leaders were picked up from Reangkhung village which is about 7km away from Longmai (Noney) village by groups who were well equipped with blunt deadly weapons such as sticks, clubs and suspected deadly objects etc led by Namdourei Dangmei, Hindi teacher and Headmaster incharge, Ashram school, Longmai, Dailin Kamei, Asst teacher, Tamenglong District school, Lanthuiguang (Bungkhai) Kamei, Secretary, Village Authority Longmai (Noney) while the ZYF leaders were enforcing democratic agitation.

The ill treatment meted out to ZYF leaders also joined by Chuangdi Kamei, LDC, Ashram School and also Secretary, Peikai (village customary court) Namthuan-gong Kamei, Field Asst Vety Deptt also former Secretary, Longmai Bazar Board and Adai Dangmei, it said.

The ZYFdecision is not to harass the innocent public but to highlight criminal activities of these persons for their vested interest and purposes and to create awareness about theimportance human rights which cannot be compromised for sake of these vested interested individuals, it added.
