CSU observes International Human Rights Day at Jiribam

Jiribam, December 15 2019: To enhance the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedom for all, Campaign for Social Upliftment (CSU) Kangleipak has observed International Human Rights Day at the Auditorium Hall of Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Jiribam, today.

The observance was attended by N Bankim Singh, ADC Jiribam as chief guest; S Maniton Singh, retd Principal Jiribam Higher Secondary School as a functional president and H Basulal Singh, Addl SP, Jiribam; Ch Sunamani Singh, retd Deputy Inspector of School as guests of honour.

Nameirakpam Brajakanta, Asst Prof, MU Department of Law, Dr Arun Kumar Mangang, Asst Prof, Jiri College, Sukham Premjit, Arambam Damudor, Research Scholar Department of Law, Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi also attended the programme as resource persons.

While delivering welcome and keynote address, M Bimolini Devi, general secretary of CSU Kangleipak stressed about the importance and needs of observing International Human Rights Day.

N Bankim Singh, ADC said that human rights are an inalienable, inherent and indivisible right of an individual in which the right to life is the foundation.

On many occasions humans rights are being violated, he said adding that the Humans Rights Commission was set up to check such violation of human rights.

As part of the programme, a painting competition was held wherein S Sumon Singh of Lalpani High School; Ch Pratibha Devi of RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya and S Sumit Singh of Jiribam Higher Secondary School bagged the first, second and third positions respectively.
