Tumuyon Khullen celebrates "N'Janghi Hangi"

Senapati, May 15 2022: Tumuyon Khullen village on Sunday celebrated Maram bride feast festival, "N'Janghi Hangi" in the presence of K Raisong, president Maram Union as the chief guest.

"N'Janghi Hangi" is one of the major festival of the village where parents invite their newly married daughters to their paternal home for a ceremonial feast.

The festival is celebrated for three days namely "Mahomkatat", "Jaangtuk" and "Sraa Kabaa" .

Speaking on the occasion, TS Suiny Soul, associate pastor Tumuyon Khullen Baptist Church stated that N'Janghi Hangi is celebrated to foster the bond of love between married daughters and their parents.

Laishram Manikanta Singh, ADC/ADM, Kangpokpi highlighted the similarities between the "Ningol Chakouba" and "N'Janghi Hangi" .

He also wished the married women of the village happiness in their future.

Later, Rangkareipa, oldest person of the village blessed the newly married daughters of the village.

Rice pounding show, folk song competition and Maram folk fusion, cultural dance from Tumuyon Khullen Dance troupe added flavour to the festival.
