PREPAK observes 'Martyrs Day'

The proscribed PREPAK observed Martyrs Day (Athoubasingi Ningsing Numit) today together with all the communities of the land by adhering to the Covid-19 SOP.
The main features of the Martyrs Day observation were lighting of lamps in the evening at the gates of each household and offering of lamps and flowers at the graveyards of the martyrs who had laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement, according to a press release issued by the outfit's Department of Publicity and Propaganda, Publicity Officer Mangal Khuman.
The observance which was held in low-key was also held at the party's Central Headquarters, Red Army's 701 Mobile Battalion, 707 Battalion, Tactical Headquarters, base areas, transit camps and training centres where the party's flag was flown at half-mast.
The outfit also paid gun salute to the martyrs, it said.
The outfit further conveyed gratitude to all the people who offered lamps at the graveyards of martyrs and lit lamps at the gates of their homes.
It reiterated that PREPAK would continue its liberation movement against imperialist forces until the objective of freedom, development and egalitarianism is achieved.
Meanwhile, family members of PREPAK cadres who died at Kameng Leimarok in 1978 paid tribute at the memorial site located at Sagolband Tera Bazar today evening.
Lamps were lit and floral tributes were paid at the memorial site by the family members.
