27 more with no travel history test positive

Imphal, August 12 2020:
At least 27 persons with no significant travel history have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, said a report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The number of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 3982 .
Of the total, 3086 are from the general population and 896 are Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 1739 (general population-1015 and Central security personnel-724) .
The number of recovered cases is 2231 and the recovery rate now stands at 56.02 per cent.
As many as 41 cases, including 34 from the general population and 7 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) tested positive in the last 24 hours.
Of the 34 persons from the general population, 27 have no significant travel history, said the report.
The positive cases were detected at RIMS (13 cases), Babina Diagnostics (3), Imphal West RAT (11), District Hospital Jiribam (1), Kangpokpi (2), District Hospital Churachandpur (5), District Hospital Thoubal (5) .
They are from Imphal West (13), Thoubal (6), Imphal East (1), Churachandpur (1), Noney (5), Kakching (3) and Kamjong (4) .
They are being shifted to COVID-19 Care Centres, said the report.
On the other hand, 76 persons have been discharged after recovery from COVID-19.They were discharged from CAPF (2), RIMS (4), CCCs of Meitram (23), Ukhrul (1), Thoubal (11) and RD Wing (25).They tested negative on RT PCR test.
The total number of recovered patients has reached 2231 (general population-2059 and Central security personnel- 172) .
Meanwhile, sources in Tamenglong district administration said 29 personnel of the 44 Assam Rifles have tested positive at RIMS today.
The number of COVID-19 cases among the Assam Rifles personnel stationed in the district has reached 30 .
There is no sign of community transmission in the district, said the sources.
Late reports from sources also informed that at least 17 persons in Imphal West and two persons in Thoubal district have tested COVID-19 positive.
Of the 17 persons who tested positive in Imphal West, six are staff of RIMS, one is a patient and four are security personnel (one 1st MR personnel and 3 personnel of Assam Rifles) .
The six staff of RIMS include one doctor, two blood bank staff, one attendant and two staff engaged with water management at RIMS.
The number of positive cases among RIMS staff has reached 61 .
The patient at RIMS was under observation before testing COVID-19 positive, said sources.
Following detection of COVID-19 positive cases, several areas including Moirangkhunou Maning Leikai and Nambol Thiyam Mangrapokpi in Bishnupur district have been sealed off and declared as containment zones.
Both the places were sealed off after one resident at each place tested positive for COVID-19, said separate orders issued by the district Deputy Commissioner today.
