Sagolband MLA reaffirms commitment to working for people with no bias

Imphal, February 12 2025: Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh on Wednesday reaffirmed his commitment to working for the people with no bias.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Sagolband Ingudam Leikai Meira Paibi Shanglen, RK IMP expressed gratitude for the unwavering love and trust of the people, which led to his victory for the third consecutive term.

He highlighted that while no one in history had won two consecutive terms in the constituency, except his father, the former Chief Minister of Manipur, (L) RK Jaichandra Singh, who achieved this in 1988 and 1990.He credited the people's belief and support for his continued leadership.

RK Imo also recalled the "MLA Ana Layenggi Tengbang" scheme, which has been providing financial aid since 2022 (Rs 20,000 each to patients suffering from cancer, kidney, and heart ailments; Rs 50,000 to families who lost loved ones in accidents; and Rs 20,000 to families who lost members due to COVID-19).He emphasized that these benefits were extended to all people in the constituency, regardless of their political preference, as he serves as an MLA for everyone.

Additionally, the MLA noted that Rs 15,000 was provided as personal advance money to nearly 700 beneficiaries during the Covid pandemic to help them start constructing PMAY houses.

"This initiative was undertaken for the welfare of the people of Sagolband, irrespective of any political affiliation.

Today, many of those houses have been constructed, the third-phase amount is being transferred to beneficiaries' accounts, and the remaining phases will be completed soon", he added.

Sharing updates on key infrastructure projects, the MLA said that the commissioning of a water reservoir at Tera, which will benefit the people of Sagolband, is expected soon.

He asserted that the Women's Keithel at Tera Bazaar will begin operations shortly, with the foundation stone set to be laid on February 14."New retaining walls at Sayang Pukhri are nearing completion as part of its renovation, modeled after Bijoy Govinda Thangapat.

Once completed, Sayang Pukhri will become a tourist attraction featuring a park and an open gym on the side", he added.

Furthermore, RK Imo announced that several other projects and infrastructure developments across Sagolband are also set to be inaugurated in the coming days.
