Kakching, February 12 2024: Langsai Thouna, Manipur has appealed to political parties in the State to refrain from building any publicity/hype in connection with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

A statement issued by Rajiv Kshetri, convenor, Langsai Thouna has asserted that the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are ill-timed and inappropriate in light of the prevailing restive situation in the State.

Maintaining that conducting an election in the midst of a conflict will only make a grave situation worse, Langsai Thouna has also urged the State CSOs and organisations to discuss this matter in depth and arrive at a resolution.

In addition, Langsai Thouna has further asserted that it will continue to impose restrictions and checks on the transportation of goods and food items along Kakching Lamkhai to Kukis in Moreh and Tengnoupal district in general until the displaced Meitei families from Moreh are safely resettled in their original homes.
