Imphal, December 11 2012:
With the Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) today declaring that it would enforce an indefinite public blockade from December 14 evening onwards, the United Naga Council (UNC), according to its president L Adani would be convening a meeting of the Council leaders to discuss the matter.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Adani confided that in case the KSDC decides to go ahead with its agitation the UNC too will chalk out relevant definite strategies at its meeting.
Even though he did not disclose when the meeting would be held, Adani expressed that UNC holds in high esteem communities that have their own rights and histories but 'encroachment' by any group of people without rights or histories will be staunchly opposed by the apex Naga body.
The UNC is presently on a drive to sensitise the Naga people on Alternative Arrangement.
A number of Naga civil society organisations had earlier decried the Kuki map issued by the KSDC.
