Imphal, November 09 2024:
Representations have been submitted to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs' Secretary and Commissioner Home, Manipur Government urging legal action against Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma for his recent US speech which "challenged" the Constitution.
The representations were submitted by Robin Blackie, former member of the National Board for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) .
Addressing a press meet today, Robin Blackie said the Mizoram CM's speech in the United States threatened India's security and integrity.
Notably, on September 4 last at Indianapolis, Lalduhoma delivered a speech wherein he allegedly talked about Zo reunification and achieving "Nationhood" .
Mizoram CM Lalduhoma is someone who has taken oath to uphold the Constitution and protect India's integrity, but his recent speech in the United States violated the Constitution and threatened India's integrity, said Robin Blackie.
He said the Indian Government should take strong note of the Mizoram CM's speech and take appropriate action against him.
If the Indian Government doesn't take action against the Mizoram CM, Robin said, he would consult law experts and approach Court.
Commenting on the conflict that has engulfed the State, Robin blamed the Congress for the present turmoil.
The constitution of separate Inner and Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituencies in 1952, implementation of the Manipur Land Reforms Act in 1960, Mizo Accord of 1986 and 2005 Suspension of Operation (SoO) are to be blamed for the present state Manipur is in, Robin said.
Robin said he welcomes the removal of the Free Movement Regime and effort to fence the Indo-Myanmar border.
