District Agriculture Fair 2022 organised at Senapati

The District Agriculture Office, Senapati and Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) jointly organised District Agriculture Fair2022underthetheme'organic.farming' today at Multipurpose Hall, Senapati.
Speaking as the chief guest, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Senapati said that there is a lot of potential in the agricultural sector like the Horticulture Department which has recently exported a large quantity of pineapples outside the State.
He also urged the fanners to come forward and take maximum participation in interacting with various field experts.
Delivering a speech as the guest of honour, Todinang Panmei, Additional Director, Department of Agriculture, Manipur, urged farmers in the district to take up High Yielding Variety (HYV) for producing more quantity of crops, Soil Health Card to obtain information about the status of soil health and crop insurance to cover the loss incurred by farmers due to reduction in yield.
SP Lovejoy Anal, District Agriculture Officer, Senapati in his speech said that 9 schemes have been taken up in the district in the interest of farmers.
He also said, seeds of various crops have been given free of cost whereas machinery for farming have been given out at subsidized rates to farmers.
He also called upon farmers to attend various awareness programmes and camps to keep themselves updated with the latest knowledge in agricultural field.
During today's programme, many outstanding farmers were also felicitated for their outstanding achievement.
They were H Sania from Tadubi block, Dilip Kumar Bhrupal from Saitu block, Ph Keturah from Paomata block, Kala from Willong block and Sana Lucy from Kangpokpi block.
Altogether 14 exhibition stalls were also opened show casing the farmer product.
In the technical session, there was an active interaction between the farmers and farmers scientist.
The programme was attended by many farmers and beneficiaries related to agriculture.
