Ningol Club Heirok laments negligence of Health Dept

Amidst high incidence of Japanese Encephalitis infection cases being reported from across the State, Moirangthem Shitanbala, secretary publicity, Ningol Club Heirok expressed dismayed over the limited stock and non-availability of insecticides like K-Othrine (Deltamethrin-2.5%) for medication/soaking of bednet and King-fog (Deltamethrin-1.25%) spray for fogging to curb the spread of the dreaded disease in different parts of Heirok.
In a press meet held at the temporary office of Ningol Club Heirok at Heirok part IIl Champrathong Thong Maning today, Moirangthem Shitanbala said that a girl was confirmed of JE infection in Heirok recently and accordingly fogging was carried out in and around her village under the directive of CMO Thoubal to contain the spread of the vector borne disease.
However, she was shocked to learn about the shortage of insecticides and fogging spray when they approached the authority concerned to carry out the fogging in different villages of Heirok to prevent further spread of the disease.
It is very unfortunate to witness the negligence and unpreparedness of Health Dept in dealing the deadly disease in Thoubal district in such critical moment when many cases of JE like infections are being reported from the district, she lamented and urged concerned Health Department, Health minister and Edn minister (MLA of the area) to address the issue at the earliest before the situation turn into a grim one.
