Imphal, May 09 2016: A scuffle ensued today as authority of Heritage Convent School refused to send their students for a protest rally organised by JCILPS-Student Wing in connection with its ongoing agitation.

A large number of students from various schools located along the Uripok-Kangchup road including City Montessori, NR Academy, Brilliance School and others were preparing to launch a protest rally under the leadership of the JCILPS Student Wing.

Members of the Student Wing alleged that the Principal of Heritage Convent School denied the repeated request to allow some senior students of the school to participate in the protest.

Following the denial by school authority, irate members of the Student Wing decided to lock the main entrance of the school.

A scuffle ensued between the locals and JCILPS Students Wing leaders as the locals opposed the act of the Students' Wing leaders.

After a heated argument, members of the JCILPS-Student Wing declared that the Administrative block of Heritage Convent School has been banned from performing any activities for allegedly disallowing students from taking part in any State related issues.

Later a team of Manipur police personnel intervened to normalize the tension between the locals and members of the Student Wing.

After declaring that the Administrative Block of Heritage Convent School has been banned indefinitely unless an understanding is brought, members of the JCILPS-Student Wing later allowed students to return home.
