Swu, Muivah still stuck at Hebron

Dimapur, April 08 2013: After cancelling their trip to New Delhi in the first week of January, NSCN-IM leaders Isak Chisi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah continue to confine at their base Hebron off Dimapur for the last three months or so.

Isak Swu however, had gone for a brief period on personal assignment to Delhi in the month of February.

Both the NSCN-IM leaders had come to Nagaland for Christmas on December 18 amid rising speculations that they had placed their complete proposal to the Government of India which could materialise by the early part of 2013.However, with staunch silence maintained by both the Government of India and the NSCN-IM on the issue, the general Naga public have begun speculating on what might have happened to the Naga peace process.

Well placed sources from the NSCN-IM informed NNN today that both Isak Swu and Th Muivah have no immediate plans to go to New Delhi.

"They will not leave Nagaland now.

Our collective leadership (Swu and Muivah) will be here for a longer period," the sources said.

Mention may be made that a high level 5-member team is studying the proposed papers of the NSCN-IM and when it gets completed New Delhi will invite the NSCN-IM leaders.

Meanwhile, a separate source from the NSCN-IM said things are going on fine "but at the moment we do not want to comment on the issue.

"The source added that since things have been on very crucial stage for the past few months, giving comment on the issue may invite unnecessary hurdles," the source added.

It can also be noted here that the comment of Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde that the settlement to the vexed Naga political issue be brought about by March 2013, had even climaxed the hype on the Naga peace process late last year.
