Women poll officers conduct poll process

Polling officer Lak Ruivah who was assigned the post of Presiding Officer for the first time in the final phase poll has stated that women are fit to be assigned any poll duty like men and could handle the electioneering processes and are efficient and capable of conducting tasks related to polls.
She stated that she was apprehensive while being appointed as Presiding Officer but after going through poll training, her nervousness went away.
She stated that two polling stations of Ukhrul Higher Secondary School and Wino Bazar in Ukhrul district were exclusively manned by women polling officers.
Another woman Presiding Officer LS Mashun said that they (women polling officers) were able to conduct the election process smoothly even though it was a challenging task.
