"We need to groom students and youths of the State for a better tomorrow", he added.
Biren further stated that the Chief Minister's Coaching Scheme was introduced with an objective to provide much needed support to deserving and meritorious students.
It is indeed laudable that many students, who come from humble backgrounds, are getting the benefits of the scheme, he added.
Stating that the primary objective of the present Government is to fulfil the aspirations of the people, the Chief Minister said that the Government has implemented human oriented schemes such as CHMT etc for the welfare of the people.
He added that around 1.5 lakh families have been benefited so far under the scheme.
During the function, the students introduced themselves before the Chief Minister and they also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister and the Government for implementing such noble schemes.
The students also shared their suggestions, opinions and grievances to the Chief Minister.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister's Scholarship Scheme for Civil Services Coaching worth over Rs 1 crore was laun-ched in March last year.
Under this scheme, the State Government will provide 100 percent scholar- ship to 150 selected civil services aspirants to realise their dreams.
With one year course fee of Rs 70,800 per student, the total amount which is to be borne by the State Government is pegged at Rs 1,06,20,000 .
The scheme is being collaborated with the Delhi-based ALS-IAS Coaching Institute under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
On the other hand, replying to a query by media persons after the interaction, Chief Minister N Biren announced that the State Government is mooting about creation of a Staff Selection Board for appointment to Grade II and Grade III posts.
A final decision is yet to be taken but the matter would be most probably discussed during the next Cabinet meeting, he added.
Pointing out that the State Government is working out means to ensure that the youths/students do not suffer any gap periods, he stressed on the importance of a State Staff Selection Board as the MPSC is the sole recruitment body and any problems concerning the body often results in inconveniences to students/youths as well.
Biren conveyed that only political dialogues have been able to bring peace when it comes to the problems of insurgencies.
The recent Bodos Accord concerning Assam, is a great achievement, he said, appealing to all the revolutionary outfits of Manipur to come to the negotiation table as well to usher in peace in the region.
He claimed that there is possibility of some 100/200 cadres coming to an agreement with the Government.
However, it will be best for all the outfits to come and work towards bringing a peaceful political solution so as to end all violence, he said, adding that he has also urged the Central Government to invite the outfits for dialogue.
He continued that the incentives for surrenderees have been increased, and claimed that ever since the coming of the BJP Government, the State has seen development in all areas.
