Imphal, September 07 2024:
Good Governance Party (GGP) president Yambem Laba has asked every Manipuri and the MLAs of the ruling party to set their priorities straight and decide whether to focus on safeguarding Manipur or on securing the seat of the Chief Minister.
Speaking to the media at his residence at Uripok Yambem Leikai today, Laba said that the violence which the State has been witnessing since May 3, 2023 has escalated and stepped into a new dimension with Kuki narco 'terrorists' now deploying drones and rockets to attack and bombard residential areas.
One woman was killed in drone assisted bombing by Kuki narco-terrorists at Koutruk and Kadangband areas on September 1 while many others were injured, he recounted and added that another civilian was also killed yesterday at Moirang in a rocket attack by Kuki narco terrorists.

It is the unarmed Meetei civilians which the Kuki narco-terrorists have been attacking in their renewed onslaught and killing civilians is a matter of rejoicing to them, Laba said.
He asked why the Kuki narco terrorists are attacking civilians when their political demand is to be discussed and deliberated with the Centre and the State Government.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh had once stated that Union Home Amit Shah will oversee the law and order in hill districts and he will be in charge of the valley district, Laba recounted.
He further said that the drone bombing at Koutruk was carried out shortly after Officer in-charge of Lamshang police station threatened the people of Koutruk to not let any village volunteer stay in the village.
Claiming that the bombing at Koutruk might have been done by deploying drones after getting a green signal from Amit Shah or allowing free movement of Kuki narco-terrorists by Assam Rifles as village volunteers were forced to leave the place prior to the attack, he maintained that Assam Rifles could not take any action against Kuki-narco terrorists as they have to follow the instruction of the Union Home Minister.
Saying that the sophisticated drones which the Kuki narco terrorists now possess may have been brought through the Indo-Myanmar border, Laba added that the CIA of the United States provided drones to PDF which is fighting a military junta in Myanmar and the same drones might be the one deployed in attacking Koutruk.
Laba went on to state that the Government of India is well aware how the sophisticated drones were brought to Manipur as Assam Rifles is guarding the Indo-Myanmar border .
Do the Government of India want annihilation of Meeteis , he asked and added that the Centre may have been using Chief Minister N Biren Singh as a shield all these months too.
Appealing to all village volunteers to not take censuring of the Chief Minister as an insult to Manipur, Laba maintained that the people of Manipur need to decide whether to safeguard Manipur or secure the seat of the Chief Minister.
Manipur will be in chaos as long as N Biren is the Chief Minister, Laba asserted, adding that the MLAs of the ruling party should also set their priorities on safeguarding Manipur and have the nerve to resign from the party if necessary.
Cautioning that the Kuki narco terrorists may even attack Raj Bhavan, CM's Secretariat and Ima Keithel if they have the arsenal to target places up to 20 Km, Laba rued that the security forces, unfortunately, have not carried out any extensive search operation in sensitive hill areas.
Why is the Chief Minister not able to give an explicit order to the DGP to carry out search operations in sensitive hill areas, he asked and added that the people should ask the Chief Minister to resign instead of DGP if he could not exercise even his authority.
The Biren led Government will automatically collapse if all the MLAs in the ruling party stop supporting the Government, he maintained.
He also pulled up the Congress party over the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement.
The Congress party allowed a Kuki militant group with only 12 cadres to be a signatory of the SoO pact and it was a serious blunder, Laba said.
