Chaoba presents case at BJP meet

Imphal, June 07, 2013: The State President of BJP Manipur and former Union Minister Th Chaoba has drawn the attention of BJP National leaders regarding the 'murder' of Reingamphy Awungshi during the BJP National Executive meeting held today at Maria Sheraton Hotel, Panaji, Goa.

Th Chaoba also highlighted the physical harassment meted out to students of NE States; racial profiling, derogatory comments and sexual offences against North East women in other parts of the country even leading to murder of women including the recent killing of Reingamphy Awungshi in South Delhi.

He urged the party's National leaders to pay serious attention and initiate action to book the culprits and punish as per law of the land.

Meanwhile, M Asnikumar Singh and Dr N Nando Singh were nominated as the Lok Sabha Guardian and Lok Sabha Convenor respectively of Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency for the forth coming LS election.

Similarly, Danny Shaiza and Yanglet Haokip were nominated as the Lok Sabha Guardian and Lok Sabha Convenor of Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency, said a BJP statement.

Th Chaoba, Sh Shantikumar Sharma and S Premananda Sharma attended the National Executive meeting of the BJP as the party's delegates from the State.
