Imphal, April 07 2015 :
The disturbing impasse in the UNACCO School, Khongman, Imphal East District, persists much to the chagrin of the students, guardians and some students' organisations.
It is alleged that the UNACCO authority has not taken seriously the ultimatum served by the local clubs on April 4 with the objective of bringing about an amicable solution.
It is said that the UNACCO authority had submitted an "unofficial" explanation to the local clubs and other organisations involved in the search for a solution to the face-off.
On Tuesday a meeting of representatives of the three clubs of Khongman was held with the Gram Panchayat pradhan presiding over the meeting.
It was unanimously resolved that the follow up stand of the clubs and local residents after the UNACCO incident shall continue.
Because the UNACCO authority has failed to furnish a "complete and official" explanation to the clubs.
Since the stand-off is certainly against the interest of the students of the UNACCO school the three clubs at Khongman namely The Oriental club, Khongman Students' Club and Social Workers' Congress are making an open appeal to the UNACCO students, guardians, students of CBSE appearing examination at the UNACCO centre and students' organisations to extend help in finding a solution to the impasse so as save the academic career of the students.
Club representatives, guardians and others of Khongman held a meeting on April 3 to put some conditions on the UNACCO authority.
It may be recalled that a resolution to boycott the UNACCO school was taken in a public meeting held on March 29 .
There were injuries to some persons during a confrontation there.
In the larger interest of the students the clubs had later decided to give time to the UNACCO authority to come to a settlement.
The main conditions were that the Managing Director of the UNACCO should be terminated and staff who were suspended should be reinstated.
Besides his close associates should not be allowed in the school administration.
The incomplete and unofficial response from the UNACCO had reference to the ultimatum.
Meanwhile a meeting of the parents of the students of the UNACCO School was held on Tuesday at the press club.
Later the parents formed the UNACCO School Adhoc Committee with K Amutombi as the convener.
The committee appealed to bring about an agreement of the stand-off.
The school should be reopened soon.
Education should be made free zone.
