Time to overthrow Cong Govt: Tapir

Imphal, July 06 2013 : Slamming the Congress party for failing to bring notable development in the Country, National Spokesperson of BJP Tapir Gao has categorically stated that right time has arrived to overthrow the Cong Govts both at the Centre and State.

He was speaking as Chief Guest of the 112th Birth Anniversary function of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee held at the office of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Nityaipat Chuthek here today.

Tapir Gao further said that the pseudo-development claims made by the Congress Government in the State are clearly manifested in buildings like City Convention Centre, which has been rendered useless even after years of its inauguration.

Manipur is still backward in human resource development and other key areas.

The State needs to have proper growth and development, he noted.

Recalling Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's contribution to the nation, the BJP National Spokesperson said that he served as the Union Minister for Industry and Supply in Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's Cabinet.

However, he quit the Cabinet in strong protest over granting of special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Later, he was arrested and poisoned to death in a conspiracy hatched by Nehru, he alleged.

"The BJP salutes the brave-heart who stood for the Country's integrity by defying the hegemony of Congress Party", Tapir asserted.

State BJP President Thounaojam Chaoba also recalled Dr Mukherjee as a true nationalist who laid down his life defending the Country's integrity.

The leaders and workers of BJP also paid floral tribute to Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.

Meanwhile, some newly joined members were inducted into the party today. Among the new members, former MSCP candidate of Bishnupur Constituency Dr Th Iboyaima was inducted as State Executive Member, Trinamool Congress candidate of Lamsang Constituency Kh Raghumani as Convenor of State Election Cell, CPI candidate of Sekmai Constituency A Oken as Executive Member of Scheduled Caste Morcha, former President of Patsoi Block Congress Mahila Morcha Lukram Binodini as Vice-President of BJP Mahila, General Secretary of Northeast Body Building Association Wakambam Ibomcha as Convenor of Sports Cell and candidate of Khongampat Zilla Parishad Bobby Devi as Secretary of BJP Mahila.
