Imphal, September 05 2014 : Lieutenant General Bipin Rawat, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, GOC 3 Corps, arrived on a two day visit to HQ IGAR(South), Manipur yesterday.

Major General Rajeev Chopra, IG AR (SOUTH), briefed on the prevailing security situation to the GOC 3 Corps.

During his visit, Lt.General reviewed the operational preparedness of the formations.

He further conveyed his whole hearted support to the civil administration and the local populace.

Lieutenant General Bipin Rawat has taken over the reins of the "Spear Corps" on September 1 .

The GOC 3 Corps along with the IG AR(SOUTH) called on Vinod Kumar Duggal, Governor and Okram Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur and discussed the security environment of the state.

GOC 3 Corps lauded the efforts of the soldiers for ensuring peace and tranquillity in the state and further demanded them to continue the good work in professional manner and in true spirits of of the AR's motto: "Friends of the North East People' .
