AMWJU decries

All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has decried the misconduct of one Jadumani, who works as an officer in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East toward senior reporter Ksh Meghajit of Naharolgi Thoudang and decided to lodge a complaint with the Government of Manipur for taking up necessary action against the said officer.
According to a statement issued by general secretary of AMWJU S Surjeswar Singh, the said officer Jadumani, who is in charge of SDC (HQ) allegedly threatened Meghajit for entering the office complex and taking photograph without the permission of the Deputy Commissioner.
Apart from charging that pressmen are there only to create problem in the internal affairs of others, the officer also threatened Meghajit with serious consequences if he does not reveal the identity of the person who have given him the information.
Denouncing the misconduct of the officer as a direct affront to all media community, AMWJU has demanded the Government of Manipur to take up necessary action against the officer within five days and warned of taking recourse to action which it deems fit in the event of failure.
