MNPF refutes NSCN (IM) claim

Imphal, July 05 2014 : The Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) in statement has rejected the claim of Benjamin Mao, general secretary Shepou Maram Region (SPMR) of NSCN-IM that V Daihe alias Welson s/o (L) PH Vio of Sorbung village in Senapati district is the general secretary of MNPF.

V Daihe is not the general secretary of MNPF, the statement said and added that if he is a general secretary then he must tell who elected him to the post, and also when and where.

The statement said that MNPF is surprised on learning the news of NSCN-IM (SPMR) welcoming such a person and used the incident as a propaganda.

MNPF discharged V Daihe alias Welson on January 18 from the outfit due to immoral behavior, financial irregularities, deceitfully organized to form a new organization under the leadership of his elder brother V Jocob.

He was arrested by MNPF/MNPA cadres due to abovementioned reasons on January 5, 2014 and kept in the custody of the outfit for 139 days.

His discharge order was published in all the major newspapers of Manipur on February 13, 2014, the statement added.

V Daihe alias Welson joined MNPF after a long request from his elder brother V Jocob, who was once Under Secretary of NSCN-IM.

V Jacob is still the mentor of his younger brother V Daihe and they can do anything for their benefit, the statement said and added that V Jocob had served as advisor of MNPF for sometime and expressed his willingness to stay the same.

But MNPF found out his treacherous thoughts and no longer accepted as its advisor, the statement added.

V Daihe was released from MNPF's custody on June 25, 2014 .

After his release, MNPF corresponded with his family about his conditions.

By learning the conditions his elder brother V Jocob apologised and requested to give him a chance to remain in the organization.

The Central Committee of the MNPF accepted his request and decided to send him to Manipur on Special Duty without assigning any portfolio, the statement added.

As MNPF was preparing to send him to Manipur he deserted the outfit by stealing a motorcycle on June 28, 2014.After a gap of three days, MNPF came to know through newspapers that he was warmly welcomed by NSCN-IM (SPMR) .

It is the game played by V Daihe lias Welson and his brother V Jocob making/electing themselves MNPF general secretary in order to consider them as an important person by NSCN-IM.

Such a person is disgraceful and condemnable, the statement added.
