UG cadre involved in abduction held

Imphal, April 05 2017: A cadre of KRA (U) who was involved in the abduction of a brick field owner for a ransom of Rs 2 crore has been arrested by Imphal West district commando from Tera Lukram Leirak today.

Sources identified the arrested cadre as Ningthoujam Ojit (40) s/o (L) Joykumar of Tera Sapam Leirak.

He was apprehended during a search operation conducted at the area under the supervision of Additional SP (Operation) Imphal West, S Ibomcha.

He was involved in the abduction of SDS Brick Field's owner namely Soibam Dhanabir of Tera Lukram Leirak for a ransom of Rs 2 crore.

The brickfield is located at Lamdeng Khunou.

The arrested cadre has been handed over to Lamphel police station, the sources said.

Mention may be made that two days back, a team of Imphal West district commando had arrested another cadre of KRA (U) who was also involved in the abduction.

He has been identified as Chongtham Ibomcha of Taothong Ayungba Maning Leikai.
