TKLI decries Delhi assault

Expressing anger to the brutal sexual and physical assault to the tribal couple at Kotla Mobarakpur Delhi at 1:00 am on May 27, 2014, the TKLI (Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal) strongly condemned such atrocious act towards the tribal Community, according to the Gen Secy, TKLI.
The couple were returning home after having dinner outside.
With animalistic behaviour they were stopped by five men, majority of them were manipuri and attempted to rape the wife while the husband was physically brutally assaulted.
The couple were rescued by the arrival of the Delhi police.
After the couple were dropped by the police near their home, around 15 men armed heavily with weapons came and brutally attacked the couple, leaving several injuries marks on their bodies.
TKLI termed the incident as most derogatory.
The tribal community have been simmering with anger for long period of time for such kind of atrocities, brutality and intolerance meted out to the tribal by the majority community in Manipur, the statement added.
TKLI would be compelled to fix the entire responsibilities to the communal driven attackers in case any tragic incident recur in future, it added.
TKLI also urged the Delhi Police to arrest all the culprits and take action as per the law of the land.
It also appealed others organisations to condemn such act.
