MU to host national youth seminar on March 21

A two-day national seminar on youths peace and development would be organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Manipur University on March 21 and 22 at the Senate Hall of MU.
Addressing media persons at the Manipur Press Club today, convenor of the seminar organising committee, Dr A Rajamani said the seminar would be held with the theme, 'Youth, peace and development' under the sponsorship of Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur.
He said delegates from 14 states of the Country have confirmed their participation in the seminar so far.
More delegates are expected.
He added, the seminar would witness the august presence of Youth Consultant of UNICEF Ranjit Mukherjee and former UN Youth Consultant Devendra Agochia, a person known for his role in drafting the National Youth Policy.
It would also see the presentations of papers by noted journalists, academicians, policy-makers, planners, researchers, social activists and students of various disciplines.
A brainstorming session would mark the second day of the seminar which will be moderated by Devendra Agochia.
Dr Rajamani urged the youths and intellects of the State to attend the seminar and draw some points that could be helpful while drafting the State Youth Policy, a decision which the State Cabinet had okayed.
