Ibobi leaves for Tokyo

Imphal, September 01 2011: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi left Imphal for Tokyo to attend an international conference which would be hosted by Tokyo from September 5 to 7 .

The conference is aimed at promoting international investment in India.

Earlier the Chief Minister remained undecided whether he should attend the Tokyo conference or not, in view of the restless situation prevailing in the State on account of the Sadar Hills district demand and the vehement opposition raised by Naga organisations.

The Chief Minister left Imphal for Tokyo this afternoon after holding a meeting with representatives of Sadar Hills District Demand Committee.

Ibobi is being accompanied by his wife MLA Landhoni and son.

From Tokyo, Ibobi would go for an European tour to Paris, Luxembourg and Madrid.
