State runs to be part of Digital India week

In the connection with the Digital India week celebration, a digital India run was organized by the Department of Information Technology in association with the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports and NEILIT today.
The run was flagged off by Parliamentary Secretary (IT) Victor Keishing and Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga from the hockey stadium, Khuman Lampak.
The runners passed through Chingmeirong, Khoyathong and North AOC before they ended the run at Khuman Lampak.

Over 500 runners comprising trainees of the Sports Academy, faculty members and students of NEILIT, college students, representatives of IT firms, representatives of mobile service providers, officials and associated members and firms of DIT Manipur, Manipur State IT Society and NIC.
During the run, officials of YAS Department highlighted the salient points of Digital India which broadly cover three areas - leveraging and supplementing IT infrastructure for e-governance, providing Government services to the citizens in the online mode on demand and empowering the citizens for participating in Digital India through digital literacy of the common man.
During this week, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi will inaugurate IT Park and temporary campus of NIT Manipur on July 4.The facility for online submission of application forms of MPSC and receipt of admit card in the online mode will also be launched during the inauguration of the IT Park and HIT Manipur temporary campus.
An event entitled Digital Climb will be held in association with Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association on July 5.A digital camp will also be organised by NEILIT in association with DIT Manipur for educating school children on various IT aspects and safety in the cyber environment.
The Digital India Week will also be celebrated at the district level wherein awareness programmes like poster campaigns, distribution of brochures, screening of video clips on Digital India will be carried out.
A jingle on Digital India Week is being aired by All India Radio at 9.29 am and 7.28 pm while ISTV is broadcasting a short Digital India Week video throughout the day.
